Bio

Chiara Savasta is a 23 year old singer-songwriter from Montreal. Born in the suburbs of the city, onto a generation burdened by anxiety and desillusion, Chiara found a safe harbor in music at a young age. She would sit in her room and write all day – daydreaming, transforming mundane experiences and encounters into intricate stories, and romanticizing her life through songwriting.

This way of escaping her dull life as a teenager became the foundation of her first project Summerhood.  Split into two EPs, Pt. 1 and Pt. 2, Summerhood is Chiara’s own take on the coming-of-age experience, as she herself stumbles into adulthood. Documenting every bit of her last teenage years, Summerhood is both jaded and hopeful.

Released in November 2022, Summerhood, Pt. 1 was saluted locally by Cult MTL and ICI Musique, and internationally by the likes of Earmilk and Wonderland, the latter lauded : Savasta has knocked it out of the park with her very first body of work, and if this EP is anything to go by – she’s definitely one to watch.

Craving real human connection like much of her contemporaries, Chiara took the stage right away. She quickly assembled a band with her creative partner Alexandre Boivin (Nimbustwokay) and started playing shows around the city, including M for Montreal, Tavern Tour and MURAL, in addition to a string of shows through local promoter KickDrum.

The young artist signed to Montreal boutique-label Cult Nation over the summer 2023 and wrapped up production on the second and final installment of Summerhood, to be released June 14, 2024. She went on to sign with the Feldman Agency for booking across Canada and secured a first appearance at CMW, in Toronto.

Chiara will put out more music before the end of the year – this time fully grown out of her teenage years, looking towards the future with anticipation.
